Comment : This nice walk across Carcassonne contains two parts. First of all, you visit the town with highlights like the Canal du Midi, the Saint-Vincent church, the Saint-Michel cathedral, the Jacobins gate and the Montmorency bastion.
Secondly, you cross the Aude river to discover the superb "Cité de Carcassonne" with its ramparts, the Count's castle, the Saint-Nazaire basilica and the nice narrow streets. Do not miss this !
The guide book indicates a walking time of 1 hour 50 minutes. It took us more than 3 hours, which seems a minimum for all these architectural treasures.
