Comment : This hike goes from La Madrague de Montredon (8th arrondissement of Marseille) to the Calanque de Callelongue. The landscape is beautiful. You will have a splendid view on Marseille shortly after the start. It is a site with a rich flora.
The guide previews 2 hours to make this hike. 2 hours for the round trip seems too ambitious to us. It took us longer. Some short passages where a bit difficult so that we not recommend this hike to small children.
We were slightly disappointed : we expected to see the wild coastline with the calanques from our way. This was not the case. We were too far and too high. The deep narrow creeks were much better to see from the edge of the concreted road along the coastline.
Note : like lots of other people, we continued our walk after the Calanque de Callelongue in the direction of Cassis. On this part, there was no road. We walked along the wild coastline and had the possibility to stop at a creek. You find yourself in the middle of nature along the rough coast. This is wonderful ! If you have not much time and you want to see the deep narrow creeks, make another walk (!), drive with your car to the Calanque de Callelongue and discover from there the wild coast !
