Duration : 3 h
Starting point : very easy to find
Signs : good | Physical capacity : quite easy
Landscape : quite nice
Global mark : quite good |
Comment : The signs are quite good, except at the first crossroad at the exit of Sergeac : go on straight ahead (as on the map), even if all the signs invite you to turn right. When you read the title and the introduction of the guide book, you think that it will be a very rich walk (“tens of prehistoric sites”). In fact, it is not. Why ? Because the guide book speaks about the valley of the Vézère, not about the walk ! This hike which contains several slopes, is a disappointment. If you are only looking for calmness, it will be all right, but if you search for prehistoric remains, forget it. Incredible when you read the title : “Prehistory in the Vézère valley” ! Luckily, the Lascaux II cave (copy of the Hall of bulls of the Lascaux cave) is quite close (town of Montignac).
