Added the : 11 September 2005

Duration : 3 h 30 min

Starting point : very easy to find

Signs : very good
Physical capacity : quite easy

Landscape : quite nice

Global mark : quite good

Comment : The starting point is very easy to find. When you arrive in Corconne, follow “Centre ville”, take to the right the “Rue de la mairie” to find the small car park of the start.
This hike consists in 4 parts.
The first part climbs via the “pont du Hasard” to the Romanesque chapel. It is not very difficult, but sometimes hands will help you, especially at the arch of the “pont du Hasard”. This first part is by far the most spectacular.
The two following parts consist in a quite long and monotonous earthen road.
The fourth part goes down back to Corconne over enjoyable and safe rocky paths.
Globally, a nice hike with a spectacular start. Because you have to climb often, it is not suitable for small children. Take lots of water with you, especially for the section on the earthen road (no shade). The signs are perfect.

Anecdote : As you can see on the photos, we have been hiking with our new friend : a goat ! It escaped from its enclosure near to the start and it kept us company until the finish of the hike (four hours) !
Very at ease at the beginning where it had to climb, our friend showed signs of difficulty on the earthen road, and at the end we had to wait for it. Fortunately, back in the village, its bell took the attention of its owner who was very happy to see its goat back. We left our friend with tears in our eyes... That’s life !
Some advice when you are hiking with a goat :
- A goat is a jumper but not a marathon runner. After two hours, it is already tired.
- It is a pity to say but a goat drinks. Fortunately, we have always lots of water with us !
- A goat starts talking when tired. It is its way to ask you to wait for it.
