Comment : [Attention : our comments about the modification of the track at point 3, only concerns the guide edited in April 2000. The new edition (which you might have) describes the new course and is perfect]. The starting point is easy to find. Drive to the centre of Aspères. You have the school, the church and the town hall with on its left the car park and the beginning point (photo nr. 1). From the start to point 3, you have a beautiful track with the remains of the priory of Aspères and various, nice smelling flora. Arrived at point 3, you will notice that the course of the hike has been modified. In our guide from June 2000 is written : 3. At the end, take the road suitable for motor vehicles which goes down at your LEFT (on the right hand, roc de Midi : viewpoint, orientation table). On the map, it is clearly indicated that you have to turn to the LEFT. Oh, surprise, arrived at point 3, all the signs show clearly that you must turn to the RIGHT. If you turn to the left, you will see nothing. If you turn right, you’ll see three things really worth seeing. First, the panoramic point with the view on the surroundings. Secondly, a little bit further, at the end of a return path, an orientation table with another splendid view. Thirdly, 10 meters before the clearing of point 4, a tight path on your right goes down (indicated by a yellow point on a three) and leads you to the cavern of the Bois de Paris. Now you understand why the course of the hike has been modified : on the left, nothing to see. On the right : viewpoint, orientation table and a cavern. We just regret that the old signs were still there, which made it very confusing. And why not to put a sign with the inscription New track ? Anyway, the two paths lead to point 4 (we tested it for you !). The last part of the hike is also very pleasant, because of the flowers, plants and the views. Note : the guide tells there is a medieval castle in Saint-Clément, 50 meters upstream from the bridge. We have been searching all around. We asked the people in vain. So if you find the castle, do not hesitate to send us an e-mail with its location. In short, a very nice hike, much to see. Do not miss it !
