Comment : This walk brings you from the town centre of Sète to the top of the Mount Saint-Clair. You will discover a splendid panoramic view, the Saint-Clair cross and the Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette chapel. At the start, you go up slowly, but it becomes really steep and it finishes with an endless stair. For children it is a difficult track, especially when it is sunny. Length : accordingly to the guide book, it is a hike of 1 hour, but it took us almost 1 hour to reach the top of the Mount Saint-Clair. Add a 30 minutes walk to the Pierres Blanches forest, without forgetting the walk through this forest and the way back to the town centre of Sète... All this will take rather 3 hours. In a nutshell : don't do the climbing with children. Visit the centre of Sète. Then go by car at the car park on the top of the Mount Saint-Clair [photo nr. 24]. You won't miss anything important between both. If you are sporty and without children, then you may enjoy this hike. You can buy some icecream on the top.
