Comment : This hike starts at the car park of the Campotel. Just before the town centre, take the road on your left, there is a sign. The walk is very well indicated. The yellow marks are clear and there is little risk to take the wrong direction. All together, a nice hike : first you walk along the river the Orb, then you start climbing (there is difference in height of 326 metres !) up to the top "Pic de Tantajo" (at 518 metres altitude), and finally you return to Bédarieux. 3/4 of the hike is in the shade of evergreen oaks and chestnut trees. Hikers with children can just follow the learning track which is very interesting and only 5 km long. Take a torch with you for the tunnel. This walk of 12 km is quite easy because for the way-up you proceed in stages and the landscapes are beautiful. The part between 7 and 8 is not so nice (rubbish, houses under construction...) but it is a short part. So, I really recommend you this walk when you are in the area of Bédarieux.
